He began his studies at UNM in 1999, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Economics followed by an MBA in Finance in 2000. Motivated by the educational benefits of the GI Bill, Caraveo resumed his studies in fall 2024, eager to open new career opportunities and deepen his knowledge in political science.

Military Service and Language Proficiency

Caraveo’s journey took a significant turn when he decided to serve in the U.S. Navy, where he spent six years. His commitment to self-improvement led him to enroll in a demanding 64-week program at the Defense Language Institute, where he honed his skills in Chinese Language and Literature. This expertise not only enhanced his military career but also influenced his academic pursuits, as he recognized the value of multilingual capabilities in global affairs.

Future Aspirations

Looking ahead, Caraveo plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Political Science and Government, aiming for graduation by 2028.
